PANAJI: A total of 178 schools across the state secured a 100 per cent pass rate in the SSC March 2026 examinations, reflecting strong overall academic performance.
Of the schools achieving the perfect score, 34 are government schools out of 78, 137 are aided schools, and 7 are unaided institutions.
Taluka-wise, Ponda recorded the highest number of schools with a perfect result at 29. Tiswadi followed with 23, while Pernem and Salcete reported 22 each. Bardez had 17 such schools, Bicholim 14, and Canacona and Quepem recorded 11 each. Mormugao had 10, Dharbandora had 9, Sattari had 6, and Sanguem had the lowest at 4.
While 178 schools celebrated perfect results this year, several institutions stood out for sustained long-term excellence. Dr K B Hedgewar High School in Cujira, Bambolim marked a historic milestone, achieving a 100 per cent pass rate for the 20th consecutive year.
Other long-term consistent performers include Surashree Kesarbai Kerkar High School in Keri, Ponda, which secured its 11th consecutive perfect year, and Holy Cross Institute in Cavelossim, marking its 10th.
Government high schools have also maintained impressive multi-year streaks, notably GHS Morpirla in Quepem and GHS Navelim in Sankhali. They are joined by consistent achievers like Chandranath High School in Assolda with eight consecutive years, as well as Purva High School in Casarvarnem and GHS Merces with six consecutive years each.
Special schools across Goa also delivered a flawless performance this academic year. The Sanjay Centre for Special Education in Porvorim saw all 41 of its students successfully pass the board exams.
Lokvishwas Pratishthan’s Virani Isani High School for Hearing Impaired Children in Dhavli, Ponda recorded a 100 per cent result with all nine students clearing the exam. Similarly, the institution’s L J Virani and N J Virani School and Home for Visually Impaired Children reported all three of its students passing with flying colours.
