18 rescued from drowning along Goa coast over weekend

Drishti Marine lifesavers rescued 18 people from drowning along Goa’s coast over the weekend, including a quadruple and triple rescue. At Arambol, two tourists from West Bengal were saved from a rip current, while three teenagers from Bengaluru were rescued after entering a red-flagged no-swimming zone. Four tourists from Kolkata were brought to safety at Ashwem after venturing into rough waters.   

At Baga, two men from Bengaluru were rescued from a rip current. At Calangute, a tourist from Hubballi was saved despite warnings. At Candolim, a German tourist and two women from Hubballi were rescued from rip currents. A shack worker was saved at Utorda, while separate rescues were carried out at Varca and Agonda after swimmers were caught in waves and strong currents.
