The Goa legislative assembly on Friday passed the Appropriation Bill, 2019 pertaining to the financial year 2019-20 giving the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant led government a Rs 19,549 crore budget boost. None the less, Opposition Leader, Digamber Kamat, advised caution and warned Sawant of fiscal pitfalls if wasteful government expenditure is not curbed.”The State is passing through a difficult financial situation. Revenue expenditure has to be checked and wasteful expenditure curbed. Otherwise you will not have money to fund schemes like the Grah Adhar and the Dayanand Social Security Scheme,” Kamat said.

Sawant however assured the House of his government’s priority to ensure financial prudence and said there was no question of any wasteful expenditure. He said, all government spending will be in the interest of the State and nothing will be wasteful.
