2 held for selling duplicate goods

MARGAO: The Margao police on Friday booked two persons and seized cell phone accessories worth Rs 6.64 lakh from a shop in the commercial capital following a complaint that they were selling duplicate goods of Intex company.

The police action comes following a complaint lodged by Rahul Kadam stating that the accused were selling the company’s products by infringement and in violation of their copyright and trade mark. He also accused the shopkeepers for cheating the consumes and the company.

The duo were later arrested under the provisions of the Copyright Act and released on bail.

The police are conducting further investigations.
