MAPUSA: Police arrested two persons on Wednesday on charges of stealing a scooter which was parked in the market, Mapusa police informed.
Both accused, Dhananjay Bhagwat (44) and Salim Shaikh (66) from Sindhudurg-Maharashtra were apprehended while they were in the process of shifting the two-wheeler to their hideout.
According to complainant, Saish Keni of Canca Bandh, some unknown person on Monday stole his sister’s white Honda Activa scooter parked near Keni Wines, Taliwado, Mapusa.
During investigation, police got to know that some people had noticed two men taking the stolen two-wheeler.
Based on the information, police apprehended the accused at Acoi-Mapusa. Both accused confessed to stealing the two-wheeler during interrogation. The accused were arrested under the relevant sections of IPC and the stolen two-wheeler was recovered.
Police Constables Franky Vaz and Sarvesh Mandrekar apprehended the accused and recovered the bike. Mapusa Police is investigating further.
