The sleuths of Anti Narcotics Cell (ANC) have arrested two alleged drug peddlers including a foreign national in separate raids. In the first raid, the team arrested one Manoj Rathod, a native of Uttar Pradesh while in illegal possession of 20 grams of Methamphetamine and 22 grams of Heroin. The value, ANC estimated, is around Rs 4.20 lakh.
A Liberia national, identified as Richard Jhonson was arrested in a separate raid at Calangute.
He was also caught with party drugs, which are valued at arounf Rs 15 lakh, according to the ANC.
Both accused will be produced before the local court for remand. The raids come against the backdrop of the sensational drug overdose death of BJP leader and actress Sonali Phogat in Anjuna.
