2 injured in head-on collision between scooters at Cortalim

Two riders sustained injuries after their scooters collided head-on near Sebastian Wine Store at Chovot, Cortalim, on Saturday night.

According to Verna police, the incident took place at around 10.06 pm when a scooter, ridden by Devesh Gaude Rassaikar, resident of Rassaim-Loutolim, was proceeding from Chovot“Thana Cortalim road towards Loutolim.

On reaching near Sebastian Wine Store, the scooter reportedly dashed against an oncoming scooter being ridden by Elvion Eusebio Fernandes of Cortalim.

The impact of the collision caused both riders to fall along with their vehicles, resulting in injuries to both. Police said the crash also led to minor damage to both scooters.

Verna Police Station has registered a case under Sections 281, 125(a), and 125(b) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.

Further investigation is being conducted by Head Constable Dessai under the supervision of PI Anand Shirodkar and the guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
