2 MURDERS ROCK GOA: Woman killed by jilted lover, body dumped at Amboli Ghat

PORVORIM

A 30-year-old woman from Karnataka but residing in Porvorim was allegedly murdered by her jilted lover in Porvorim and the body was later dumped at Amboli Ghat. Two persons have been arrested in this connection.

The prime accused, Prakash Chunchwad (22), who runs a garage in Porvorim, has been arrested in this connection and identified the spot where he had dumped the body of Kamakshi Udapnov.

The brother of Kamakshi had filed a complaint with Porvorim police stating that she had been missing since Wednesday night.

Police said Prakash and Kamakshi were into a relationship for some time, but Kamakshi later fell in love with another person and decided to break off her relationship with Prakash. This had led to frequent altercations between Prakash and Kamakshi.

A few days ago, there was an argument between Prakash and Kamakshi at Mapusa. Prakash lost his temper and slapped Kamakshi in the presence of her friends. Kamakshi filed a complaint at the Mapusa police station on Tuesday.

Mapusa Police summoned both Prakash and Kamakshi and sought a written assurance from Prakash that he would not harass Kamakshi again.

On Wednesday night, Prakash visited Kamakshi at her rented flat in Porvorim and is alleged to have murdered her in the flat. Prakash then placed the body in his car and drove to Amboli, where he dumped the body.

Acting on the missing complaint, Police detained Prakash and a police team along with a forensic team took him to Amboli, where he identified the site where he had dumped the body. Police then recovered the body.

Police have arrested Prakash and his friend, Nirupadi Kadakal, who is accused of assisting Prakash in the disposal of the body.

Police said Prakash had reportedly confessed having committed the murder since Kamakshi had broken off her relationship with him. Police investigations are in progress.
