2 women steal mangalsutra from Margao jewellery store

MARGAO
In a daring incident that has come as a shock to the city jewellers, two unknown women lifted away a Mangalsutra from a branded jeweller’s shop after confusing and distracting the sales representatives.

A complaint to this effect has been lodged with the Margao Police with a plea to register an FIR and bring the culprits to book.

The incident is believed to have occurred earlier this week in the jewellery shop, dealing in silver, diamond, gold, platinum, precious and semi-precious stones, in the Margao Municipal New market.

Two female persons wearing masks entered the jewellery premises at around 5.30 pm and requested the ladies salespersons to show to them Mangalsutras.

As the duo evinced interest in buying a Mangalsutra from the shop, the salespersons showed to the accused customers various designs of Mangalsutras and in the process, the two ladies managed to steal one of the Mangalsutra.

After committing the theft, the two ladies walked out of the shop with the stolen Mangalsutra, valued around Rs 1.60 lakh. No sooner the salespersons came to know about the missing Mangalsutra, they all went out in search of the two ladies, but in vain.

The act of commission of theft by the unknown women is recorded in our CCTV cameras. The owner has attached the CCTV footage with the complaint. In the video recording, the two ladies who have committed theft, are visible.
