Shiv Sena declared the names of three candidates to be fielded from Mapusa, Mayem and Curtorim constituencies for the Goa Assembly elections.
The three candidates include former Mapusa Municipal Council chairman Michael Carasco, Mayem-based social worker Tulsidas Chodankar and Nilesh Joshi.
Shiv Sena revealed that it is presently in talks over sharing of seats with Goa Suraksha Manch. The scene is expected to be clearer by the end of November, it was informed.
Speaking at Panaji, Shiv Sena’s Goa chief Sudip Tamhankar said, “Subhash Velingkar had conveyed to me today that the time has come to sit down and discuss over the seats.” More names are expected to follow the seat sharing talks between GSM and Sena.
Tamhankar reiterated that the sole aim of the alliance would be to bring down the present regime and even went to the extent of expressing readiness to withdraw party candidates if GSM has a better chance of winning.
