MAPUSA

A 21-year-old youth, Sairaj Morajkar from Karaswada, Mapusa, died in a self-accident early Monday morning in Bastora. The incident took place around dawn, when he was reportedly riding his motorcycle alone through the Bastora stretch.

Police believe he lost control of the two-wheeler, causing it to skid and throw him violently onto the road, resulting in serious head injuries. Passersby and locals rushed him to Goa Medical College and Hospital in Bambolim, where he died while undergoing treatment.

His body has been sent for post-mortem. Police have not confirmed whether he was wearing a helmet, and investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause.
