2 others injured in crash at Cansaulim

A woman lost her life while her husband and their minor daughter were injured after a scooter rammed into them near Three Kings Hall, Cansaulim, on Sunday evening.
According to a complaint filed by Head Constable Shiva Naik of Verna Police Station, the incident occurred around 7:45 pm on 18 May when the accused rider, Aryan Gaude of Shiroda, was riding his scooter in a rash and negligent manner while proceeding from Cansaulim Market towards Verna. Near Three Kings Hall, the scooter allegedly struck three pedestrians walking along the roadside.
The deceased has been identified as Sangeeta Bind, a native of Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh, but residing at Verna. Her husband, Serai Bind, and their 13-year-old daughter sustained injuries and are undergoing treatment at South Goa District Hospital (SGDH), Margao. The rider, Aryan Gaude, and his pillion rider also sustained injuries. Gaude is currently admitted to Goa Medical College (GMC), Bambolim.
Verna police conducted an inquest panchanama at SGDH and sent the body for a post-mortem. The body was later handed over to the family for final rites.
Police have registered a case under Sections 281, 125(a), 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 185 of the Motor Vehicle Act. Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Mahesh Bhomkar under the supervision of PI Anand Shirodkar and the guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
