25-year-old taxi driver arrested for voyeurism

A 25-year-old taxi driver was on Thursday arrested by the Panaji police for allegedly peeping through a bathroom window and recording video of a woman while she was bathing. However, the accused, Cipson Gomes, was released in the “bailable offense”.

The police said that they have seized the mobile phone that will be sent to the forensic science laboratory to retrieve the data.

According to the victim, she spotted the accused making a video recording on his phone while peeking through her bathroom window. The accused fled the scene after the victim raised an alarm. Bystanders near the victim’s house caught the accused hearing her alarm.

He was handed over to the Panaji police, who arrested under sections 354 C for voyeurism and 201 for the destruction of evidence of the Indian Penal Code.
