In a tragic incident, a 26-year-old woman, Preeti Arya, was killed in a road accident on the Sancoale highway on Wednesday morning. Arya, a resident of Delhi, was killed after being crushed under the wheels of an Innova car in the accident that involved three vehicles.
According to information from sources, Arya was with her husband and moving as a pillion rider on a rented bike towards Goa airport along the highway when the accident occurred after the couple dashed against a parked Wagon R car, and the deceased lady came under the wheels of the Innova car moving in the same direction along the highway.
“The couple had taken the bike in rent on 10th November from Goa Airport and were supposed to return the bike today. The husband, Pranab Mallik (29), had given the copy of the license and Aadhar card to me. As per their documents, the couple were from East Patel Nagar, Delhi, and I would have collected their bike from the Airport in some time. I got a call from my friend about the accident, and I rushed to the site,” said the bike owner.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Innova car, Francis Mascarenhas, said that he had absolutely no chance to save the woman who came under the wheels of his car.
