The Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) Federation has urged the Goa government to regularise nearly 2,700 labour supply employees working in the Public Works Department (PWD) across the State. Addressing the media, INTUC State President Ajay Prabhugaonkar said the long‑pending issue must be resolved through a decision in the Legislative Assembly, even as he stressed that the workers have served the department for years and deserve job security and service benefits.
Prabhugaonkar warned that if the demand is ignored, the federation will intensify its agitation. “The government must act immediately. Delay will only force us to launch stronger protests,” he said in the presence of dozens of the affected workers.
The union has called on the State to honour its commitment and provide a permanent solution.
