3 injured as lightning strike damages 2 houses in Usgao

PONDA:

Three persons, including a minor, were injured after a lightning strike damaged two houses following thundershowers in Udiwada-Usgao on Wednesday evening.

While Ashvika Naik is undergoing treatment at the Piliem Primary Health Centre (PHC), Saish Tilve (14) and Akshita Tilve were treated at the PHC late at night and were later sent home.

According to information, the incident took place at about 6 pm on Wednesday, when a lightning strike damaged the homes of the Naik and Tilve families.

Ashvika Naik, who was at the back of the house, Saish Tilve, who was preparing to go for tuitions, and Akshita Tilve, who was by the roadside, were injured in the incident.

They were admitted to the Piliem PHC and while Saish and Akshita were sent home after treatment at about 11.30 pm, Ashvika Naik is undergoing treatment at the health centre.

The lightning strike damaged home appliances such as TV sets, refrigerators, washing machines, fans, mobile phones, mixers and other electrical systems in both houses.
