SFX Camarxett secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Rumba United to advance to the quarterfinals of the Batora United 9-a-side Football Tournament. The match, held at St Alex Church Ground in Curtorim on Thursday, was organized by Batora United.
The game began slowly due to a slippery pitch, with both teams struggling to gain control. SFX Camarxett took the lead in the 14th minute with a well-placed shot by Aston Castanha. They extended their advantage in the 26th minute when Cashwino Fernandes tapped the ball neatly into the far corner of the net. Despite a strong effort from Rumba United's Veron Fernandes, who could not find the back of the net before halftime, SFX Camarxett led 2-0 at the break.
After the interval, Rumba United intensified their attack, and their efforts paid off. Ethan Mascarenhas and Veron Fernandes scored in the 35th and 44th minutes, respectively, levelling the score. However, the decisive moment came in the 56th minute when Cashwino Fernandes scored a crucial free kick that beat both the defence and the goalkeeper, completing his brace and securing the victory for SFX Camarxett.
Cashwino Fernandes was named Man of the Match, with the award presented by Caitan Fernandes, General Secretary of Batora United.
