The Health Department on Friday recorded 30 Covid related deaths taking the state’s total Covid fatalities to 2,302.
Of these 30 deaths, 11 occurred at South Goa District Hospital, nine at Goa Medical College and Hospital, four each at private hospitals in North and South Goa. and one each at ESI Covid Hospital and Primary Health Center, Curtorim
The Department also recorded 1,625 new cases of the infection from among 5,063 samples tested in the last 24 hours. The daily positivity rate stood at 32 per cent.
The total active Covid cases in the state have further reduced to 19,328 while the recovery rate has risen to 84.89 per cent.
The state has recorded a total of 1.43 lakh cases of Covid-19 since last year
68 prisoners above
45 yrs vaccinated
at the Colvale Jail
PANAJI: The Directorate of Health Services informed that 68 eligible prisoners in the age group of 45 and above were vaccinated on Friday at Central Jail in Colvale. A senior official from DHS said that though the department is hoping to consider the balance prisoners in the 18 to 44 years age group for the next round of vaccination, the same is likely to be delayed by a few weeks.
