31-yr-old dies in Chimbel accident

OLD GOA

A 30-year-old man from Merces was killed in a mishap on the steep slope at Chimbel on Thursday evening.

According to Old Goa police, Govind Naik was on his way towards the Military camp from Chimbel when an oncoming tempo dashed against his motorcycle and seriously injured him.

Naik was immediately shifted to the GMC hospital for treatment in a 108 Ambulance but succumbed to his injuries.

The Old Goa police arrested the driver of the tempo Anand Harmalkar, who was later released on bail.
