Woman dies in road mishap at Ponda

A 60-year-old pillion rider from Durgabhat-Ponda died tragically in a mishap at Shantinagar-Ponda on Thursday night. Pushpa Anand Naik, accompanied by her husband, was en route to the Ponda Sub-District Hospital due to illness.

Her saree got entangled with the scooter’s rear tyre near Rukhmini Auditorium, causing her to fall and sustain serious injuries. Despite medical attention, she passed away at GMC hospital in Bambolim.

OLD GOAA 30-year-old man from Merces was killed in a mishap on the steep slope at Chimbel on Thursday evening.According to Old Goa police, Govind Naik was on his way towards the Military camp from Chimbel when an oncoming tempo dashed against his motorcycle and seriously injured him.Naik was immediately shifted to the GMC hospital for treatment in a 108 Ambulance but succumbed to his injuries.The Old Goa police arrested the driver of the tempo Anand Harmalkar, who was later…
