Anjuna Police arrested a 37-year-old man from Sangli-Maharashtra in connection with the theft of a scooter parked outside a house at Ozrant-Vagator.
The incident is reported to have taken place in the wee hours of Wednesday, when the scooter was parked outside a house, while a party was in progress.
At about 3 am on Wednesday, the scooter was reported missing and CCTV camera in the house revealed that a thief was seen stealing the scooter at around 1 am.
A complaint was then lodged with the Anjuna Police.
On Thursday, police received information that the scooter was seen in Assagao. A police team rushed to the site and nabbed the suspect red-handed. The stolen scooter was also recovered from the accused, Narendra Patil.
The accused was arrested under Section 379 of IPC and a Mapusa court has remanded him to custody. Constable Rajan Patil is conducting further investigation.
