A 38-year-old Russian national died after sustaining injuries at Sawantwada-Mandrem in the wee hours of Monday.
According to Pernem police, Sergei Brodskii had been residing at an apartment in Sawantwada. Locals claimed that at about 5.30 am, Brodskii had been crying for help and when they went to check, he had stated that he had broken his back.
He was later shifted to Community Health Centre at Tuem, where a medical officer on duty declared Brodskii dead on arrival.
Mandrem police registered a case of unnatural death under Section 194 B.N.S.S, and conducted a panchanama at the site.
