4 arrested for theft of 40 aluminium window

Valpoi Police have arrested four persons for allegedly stealing 40 aluminium window frames from Infrastructure Logistic Pvt Ltd at Pissurlem, Sattari, and recovered the stolen material. 

The accused allegedly entered the company’s staff/workers’ colony and canteen between August 30 and September 3, damaged the glass windows and removed the frames, causing a loss of around Rs 60,000.

The case was registered at Valpoi Police Station on September 5 on a complaint by company representative Vishnudas Gawas. Crime No. 41/2026 was registered under Sections 324 and 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

The arrested accused are Vinay Yalappa Vaddar (19), Sunil Subhash Godelkar (24), Sanjay Mallappa Abbigri (27) and Manjunath Ganesh Chavan (20), all residents of Honda, Sattari.

Police also seized the vehicle allegedly used in the theft and a screwdriver.

The stolen frames were recovered from the accused. Police are investigating the motive, how the accused accessed the premises, whether they had prior knowledge of the material and whether others were involved.

Further investigation is under way.
