The Margao Traffic Cell has booked five cases against drunken driving in the city on Thursday.
While the Cell headed by PI Gautam Salunke on Thursday inspected the private buses as well as buses of the KTC and Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation, none of the drivers checked were found positive.
PI Salunke said all the five cases of drunken driving, including two-wheelers and rickshaw drivers, have been sent to the court for further action.
Saying that the drive against drunken driving will be intensified in the coming days, PI Salunke warned to seize buses whose drivers are found guilty of driving by consuming liquor, and also move the RTO for cancellation of licenses.
“In today’s operation, none of the bus drivers were found in a drunken state. The five cases booked by the Traffic police pertaining to two-wheeler riders and rickshaw drivers,” he added.
