The State government has approved the promotion of four Executive Engineers and one Surveyor of Works (Civil) to the post of Superintending Engineer / Superintending Surveyor of Works (Civil) in the Public Works Department (PWD) on an ad-hoc basis.
According to the order issued by the Principal Chief Engineer and Ex-Officio Additional Secretary (PWD) UP Parsekar, the officers have been promoted in Group “A”, Gazetted.
The promotion will remain in force until the officers attain the age of superannuation or until the posts are filled on a regular basis, whichever occurs earlier, and will be subject to vigilance clearance.
According to the order, the promoted officers include: Swapnil Dessai, Executive Engineer, PWD Division XXV, Margao, has been promoted and posted as Superintending Engineer, Circle Office IX (PWD), Panaji.
Lester D’Souza, Executive Engineer, Division XX, PWD Margao, has been promoted as Superintending Engineer (Monitoring and Evaluation), PWD Panaji, against an existing vacancy. Consequently, Sanjay Gaude has been relieved from the additional charge.
Vassuraj Karmalkar, Executive Engineer, Division IX (PWD), Margao, has been promoted as Superintending Engineer, Circle Office I, Design & Development Wing (DDW), PWD, Panaji, against an existing vacancy.
Jude Carvalho, Executive Engineer, Division II, PWD, Panaji, has been promoted as Superintending Engineer, Circle Office III, PWD, Panaji. Consequently, SE Pradeep Gaude has been transferred.
Armstrong Fernandes, Executive Engineer, Division XXII (PWD), Bicholim, has been promoted as Superintending Engineer, Circle Office IV, PWD, Margao, relieving Narayan S. Tivrenkar of the additional charge.
As per the order, the promoted officers will continue to hold charge of their existing posts until further instructions.
Additionally, Lester D’Souza will also hold additional charge of Superintending Engineer, Circle Office VII, PWD Panaji, until further orders.
The government has also effected transfers among Superintending Engineers as follows: Sanjay Gaude, Superintending Engineer, Circle Office I, PWD Panaji, is transferred and posted as Superintending Surveyor of Works, PWD Panaji.
Sunil Gaude, Superintending Engineer, Circle Office II, PWD Panaji, is transferred and posted as Superintending Engineer, Circle Office VI, PWD Panaji.
He will also hold additional charge of Superintending Engineer (Legal), PWD Panaji.
Pradeep Gaude, Superintending Engineer, Circle Office III, PWD Panaji, is transferred and posted as Superintending Engineer, Circle Office I, PWD Panaji, and will also hold additional charge of Superintending Engineer, Circle Office I, PWD Panaji, until further orders.
The government clarified that these promotions are ad-hoc and will not confer any claim for regular promotion or seniority benefits.
