In order to ensure that businessmen don’t waste their precious time in physically going to various government departments to get all sorts of approvals, the state government is going to make 50 business related services available online very soon.
This was confirmed by Revathi Majumdar, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Goa Electronics Ltd (GEL). Majumdar said, “We are going to make 50 business related services available online. Of these, 35 services will be made available in just one and a half months’ time. To avail of these services, a businessman will have to go to the website of the Investment Promotion Board (IPB).”
The Goan Everyday had earlier reported that the IPB’s website will act as a unified website for new and existing industries to get all the approvals from the state government.
When asked which kind of services will be made available online for businesses, Majumdar replied, “Large chunk of these services belong to the labour department. Moreover, some services of revenue department, industries department and municipal corporation will also be made available online.”
As of now, 30 government services are available online for people to avail. Some of these are related to business while others are non-business related services. However, all 50 government services, which will be soon available online, relate to the industries.
All these initiatives taken by the state government are a part of ‘Ease of Doing Business’ (EODB) project of the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) under the central government.
