50% of assurances in my manifesto fulfilled, says Sawaikar

On the occasion of the third anniversary of Narendra Modi government on Friday, South Goa MP Narendra Sawaikar claimed he has accomplished 50% of the promises mentioned by him in his manifesto for South Goa.

On the anvil is a Passport Seva Kendra for South Goa at the South Goa District Collectorate and MRI facility at the upcoming South Goa Dist Hospital in Margao, while a sum of Rs 500 crore for the expansion of Dabolim airport have been sanctioned, informed the South Goa MP at a media briefing held in Margao to mark the occasion.   
Sawaikar claimed to have written to the Railway Minister requesting the latter to terminate the Superfast, luxurious train Tejas Express at Margao railway station instead of the present Karmali station. He listed the following three projects to be taken to their logical conclusion in the   
remainder of his tenure: Railway infrastructure (includes completion of seven railway over bridges which have secured in-principle approval, transforming Curchorem railway station into a modern station among 100 such stations all over the country, completion of work on Davorlim rail overbridge), facilitating the establishment of NIT at Cuncolim and solving CRZ/environment related issues affecting residents of wildlife sanctuaries along the Western ghats in Goa)   
Sawaiker claimed to have spent a total of Rs 21 crore from the MPLAD fund over the past three years on various projects in South Goa. 
The South Goa MP also mentioned some other accomplishments of his three year tenure. 
They include construction of toilets under the ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ where he claimed that 80% to 85% of the schools in Goa now have toilets. Sawaiker also informed that 42,112 LPG customers of the total of 4.5 lakh such LPG customers in Goa have voluntarily surrendered their LPG subsidy in response to the call given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.   
Referring to infrastructure, the South Goa MP eulogised Union Minister Nitin Gadkari as a visionary, claiming that three bridges on the Talpona-Galgibag sector as well as the linking roads there will be completed by December 2018.   
As a part of the ‘Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana’, Sawaiker said a comprehensive plan has been chalked out for the second village of Cavrem-Pirla adopted by him which will have to be passed by the new panchayat body. He claimed 60% of works have already been accomplished in the first village of Khola adopted by him under this scheme.   
South Goa District BJP president Sarvanand Bhagat, South Goa ZP president Navnath Naik, ZP member Ulhas Tuenkar and BJP general secretary and MMC councillor Rupesh Mahatme were also present for the media briefing.

The residents of Bhati, Curca, Bambolim and Talaulim have not been receiving water supply for the last many days and have to dependent on the limited supply of water through the water tankers.
