Candolim Police have registered a case against six security guards employed by a private security agency for allegedly misappropriating valuable silver artefacts, jewellery and a Kashmiri carpet from a private property at Sinquerim.
The offence was registered on Tuesday following a written complaint lodged by Rohina Mehra, a resident of Gurugram, Haryana.
According to the complaint, the alleged offences took place between March 17 and May 19, 2026, at Kashmir House, a private villa located in Sinquerim, Candolim.
Police have identified the accused as Argha Dalai, Sandip Pradhan, Atanu Jana, Rajendra Maity, Rintu Nayak and Apurva Das, all security guards employed by M/s G4S Secure Solutions (India) Pvt Ltd.
The six were deployed to guard the property and were entrusted with the keys to the premises.
The complainant alleged that the accused, acting with a common intention, committed criminal breach of trust by dishonestly misappropriating valuable movable property kept in the house.
The stolen items allegedly include 962 silver artefacts, such as katoras, coffee pots, wine cups, photo frames, lanterns, trays, hookahs, dancing girl idols, boxes, attar bottles, pots, salt holders, flower vases, shankhs, caster holders, elephant idols, fans, candle stands, camel idols, jaali boxes and lotas.
The complaint further states that 682 pieces of jewellery were also allegedly misappropriated, including pendants studded with precious stones, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, bangles, rings, brooches, anklets, chains, crosses and cufflinks. A Kashmiri silk woollen carpet was also reported missing.
Candolim Police have registered an offence under Section 316(3) read with Section 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, pertaining to criminal breach of trust committed with common intention.
The investigation is being conducted by PSI Paresh Sinari.
Police are further probing the circumstances surrounding the alleged misappropriation and the recovery of the missing valuables.
