60-year-old Odisha native painter found dead at Palolem

Body shifted to district hospital; case of unnatural death registered

CANACONA   

A 60-year-old man from Odisha, who had been working as a painter in Canacona for the past 20 years, was found dead at Palolem on Sunday morning. According to Canacona police, the man was found lying unconscious at Palolem and was taken to the casualty ward of CHC Canacona in a 108 ambulance. The doctor on duty declared him brought dead.   

During the site panchanama and enquiries with local residents, police identified the deceased as Ramdas, aged between 55 and 60, a native of Odisha who had been living and working in Goa as a painter for the last two decades. Police conducted an inquest panchanama and sent the body for preservation to the South Goa District Hospital at Margao for further medico-legal formalities. An unnatural death (UD) case has been registered under Section 194 of the BNSS, 2023. Further inquiry is being carried out by Vishal Velip of the Canacona Police Station.
