63-yr-old British national dies in Siolim

MAPUSA

A 63-year-old British national residing in Siolim passed away on Thursday night after he was brought to the Primary Health Centre (PHC) in an unconscious state.

Anjuna Police registered an Unnatural Death (UD) case after receiving a call from PHC Siolim at around on Thursday late evening, informing them that the patient, identified as Victor Alan Kelley, had been declared ‘brought dead’.

According to the police, Kelley, who was staying at Exotic Residency, Siolim, was shifted to the health centre in a 108 ambulance at around 10 pm after he experienced severe breathing difficulty. The medical officer at PHC Siolim declared him dead on arrival.

Police said inquiries with his wife, Sarah Jane Morley, revealed that Kelley had been suffering from multiple health issues. He had earlier been admitted to Vision Hospital, Mapusa, from November 25 to 27 for respiratory distress, productive cough, fever, nausea, vomiting and loose motions.

He had also undergone heart surgery three years ago.

An inquest panchanama conducted over the body showed no external injuries, and police stated that no foul play is suspected in the death.

The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, after which it will be handed over to his wife for the final rites.
