Saligao MLA Jayesh Salgaonkar has stated that seven platforms to immerse Ganesh idols will be constructed in six villages of Saligao constituency.
He was addressing a gathering after inaugurating the Ganesh idol immersion platform at Pilerne in the presence of Pilerne-Marra Sarpanch Sandeep Bandodkar, President of Farmers Committee Jaysingrao Rane and the panch members.
“Villagers were facing difficulties during immersion of Ganesh idols due to non-availability of suitable arrangements in Pilerne. This immersion platform has been constructed through the Water Resources Department to facilitate immersion of Ganesh idols,” said Salgaonkar.
“Six other platforms to immerse Ganesh idols will be constructed in Saligao, Nerul, Sangolda, Reismagos and Guirim before Ganesh Chaturthi.”
The Saligao MLA also informed that work to lay the underground electricity cable at Pilerne has been completed.
“Due to digging of roads, residents have faced difficulties and all these internal roads which have been dug will be hot-mixed after monsoon,” said Salgaonkar.
Pilerne-Marra Sarpanch Sandeep Bandodkar said the panchayat has been working consistently for the development of the village.
“The panchayat received very good support from residents during the recent cyclone. With the support of villagers and fire station personnel, we could clear fallen trees while also restoring power and water supply. If such support is received from villagers, development of the village can be done at a faster pace,” said Bandodkar.
