North Goa District Collector Ajit Roy has directed the local authorities to withdraw the containment zones from Tuesday onwards.
“The positive persons from the micro-containment zones have recovered and 14 days have passed since recovery of the last positive person...I hereby withdraw the micro-containment orders,” stated Roy.
"The deputy collector/incident commander, rapid response team is hereby directed to de-seal the areas in Bardez from June 1,” he added.
Accordingly, micro-containment zones imposed in 10 areas in Mapusa and seven each in Saligao and Tivim will be de-sealed by the administration.
The district authorities decided to lift the restrictions following a detailed discussion with incident commanders, officials of health, police and local-self government bodies.
