Statehood Day announcements meant to hide failures: Naik

PANAJI

Aam Aadmi Party has said that CM Pramod Sawant is only making misleading announcements and empty promises to fool the people. Spokesperson Valmiki Naik, addressing media yesterday, said that Sawant’s stage-managed Statehood Day address was full of jumlas that were only intended to manage headlines and mislead the public.

Naik said that AAP had demanded that Goa Govt follow the Delhi model in providing comprehensive financial relief to all sections affected by the pandemic and the related restrictions, whether covid victims, or Corona warriors, or the common man suffering from the economic crisis.

Regarding the Rs2-lakh ex-gratia to poor families who have lost earning member, Naik stated that no notification or details have been given “in a few days” as promised by the CM. Naik said no answers have been given to questions such as what is the income bracket, does victim have to be sole earning member, and what is the total allocation for this scheme? Regarding the so-called increase in the non-institutional care benefit for orphans, Naik alleged that this is an outright lie.
