7 missing children reunited with families

Over the weekend, Drishti Marine personnel located seven missing children, bringing the total reunited since January 2024 to 58 on Goa’s beaches. Amid damp weather, three rescue operations occurred, including a triple rescue at Palolem Beach, and three incidents necessitated first aid for various injuries.

At Calangute beach, lifesavers reunited a three-year-old girl and a nine-year-old boy from Karnataka with their families after finding them unattended. On Colva beach, an eight-year-old boy and a six-year-old girl from Quepem were found distressed, reunited through proper identification protocol.

A seven-year-old child was found unattended at Miramar Beach following sudden rainfall, and at Palolem beach, a three-year-old Goan boy was reunited with his mother after lifeguards made announcements. On Baga beach, a man from Kerala’s daughter was located nearly two kilometres away and reunited with her father.

Three rescue operations were carried out, including the rescue of three women from Karnataka at Palolem beach, and a man from Karnataka facing a kayak leak.
