On the occasion of Goa Liberation Day 2022, seven police personnel including a Superintendent of Police will receive the award of the Chief Minister's Police (Gold) Medal for Meritorious Service.
SP South Abhishek Dhania, Deputy SPs - Vice Principal (Police Training School) Manoj Mardolkar and CM Security (Panaji) Tushar Vernekar, Police Sub Inspector Devu Mangaonkar, Head Constable Santosh Bhatkar, Lady HC Chaya Godkar and Constable Avinash Naik have been named for the award.
The order was issued by the Home Department upon approval of the government.
In a separate order by the Office of the Director General of Police, Calangute Police Station has been ranked first in the Best PS category. The Verna PS and Panaji PS rank second and third, respectively. The announcement was made during Goa Police Raising Day 2022. The winning PS will get a cash reward of Rs 30,000, Rs 20,000 and Rs Rs 10,000, respectively along with trophies and certificates for the entire staff.
