Superintendent of Police Kiran Poduval has been awarded the President’s Police Medal (PPM) for his meritorious service on the occasion of Independence Day 2021. The Medal will be presented to him at the hands of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant at the State-Level Goa Liberation Day celebrations slated to be held at Goa University Ground (Helipad area) Taleigao on December 19.
SP Poduval joined the Goa Police Department as Police Sub-Inspector on July 26, 1990, and underwent one-year basic training at Maharashtra Police Academy, Nasik. He passed out with flying colours in May 1991 and stood first amongst the newly recruited PSIs from Goa Police and 8th in the Academy.
He was promoted to the post of Police Inspector in the year May 2001 and thereafter he was promoted to the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police in the year May 2015. As a DySP he has worked as a Sub Division Police Officer and Deputy Superintendent of Police, security, and other Units. He was promoted to the post of Superintendent of Police on August 29, 2022, and is presently posted as SP (Security).
For various achievements, Poduval was awarded Chief Minister’s Police (Gold) Medal in 2012 for Meritorious Service on the occasion of Goa Liberation Day 2012.
He was awarded DGPs Insignia for Excellence in Service on the occasion of Goa Police Raising Day on December 20, 2021.
