9 seasonal huts
razed at Benaulim
MARGAO: The Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA) on Monday razed around nine seasonal huts erected by a hotel at Benaulim. The demolition drive was carried out under police protection.
Though the GCZMA had identified around 22 temporary huts/cottages for demolition, the South Goa demolition squad could raze only nine structures.
A GCZMA official told The Goan that the huts/cottages were erected in private property in the last tourist season, adding that the authority has stepped in to demolish the structures within the property of the hotel.
In the last phase of operation, the GCZMA had razed a number of structures at Cavelossim and Betalbatim which were erected in private property.
