The Bharaitya Janata Party’s (BJP) online member registration through the NaMo app also has a feature by which the party leadership hopes to monitor performance of its ‘Karyakartas’ and work done by each of its workers.
Through this feature in the app, the ‘karyakartas’ are allotted points on the basis of work related to spreading the party views, commenting positively about the party on various social media platforms, registering a new member into the party, watching party related videos and photos, and for ‘likes’ or ‘comments’.
A predetermined fixed amount of points are allotted for each activity. For instance, a ‘karyakarta’ will get five points for introducing a new member.
A list of top ‘karyakartas’ under this point system is also prepared and can be seen by all registered on the App, a measure which a top BJP leader said is to encourage other karyakartas. Each karyakarta is presented a badge on accumulating a certain number of points.
Using this app, the party leadership can easily keep a watch on the activities of the workers and volunteers, the top leader said, adding that the party will also have details of the profession and educational qualification of every worker. The party volunteer who gives a ‘missed call’ on a toll free number, receives a link with which you can download the app and register on it by filling in personal details.
“The system had some glitches initially but now all those have been resolved with the consistent support of central IT team of the party. Till now 1.8 lakh members have been registered in Goa”, Goa BJP general secretary Sadanand Shet Tanawade, said.
Meanwhile, Tanawade informed that party president and Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari will visit Goa later this month for the official programmes and to address BJP workers in the State to encorage them to participate in ongoing BJP primary members registration drive.
The registration drive will also be monitored by coordinator of the Party Arun Chaturvedi who will be in Goa on August 8.
Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivrajsingh Chouhan will also be coming to Goa on August 11. The party had launched its online registration from July 6. Once the drive ends, the party will hold the Organisational elections next month, Tanvade added.
