AAP accuses BJP, Congress of interfering in VP polls

The Aam Aadmi party in the state has accused Curchorem legislator Nilesh Cabral of throttling grassroots democracy in threatening village folk to “either elect his ‘chellas’ or else there will be no development”.

Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, AAP state convener Elvis Gomes said that MLAs from both the BJP and Congress have “massively manipulated the delimitation process and reservation of wards.”  “It is strange that the State Election Commission is behaving like a toothless tiger instead of censuring Cabral and preventing him from further vitiating the election field. Cabral is not alone. MLAs from both sides -- BJP and Congress -- have massively manipulated the delimitation process and the reservation of wards by rotation policy,” Gomes said.
