Aam Aadmi Party has started oxygen checking centres all across Goa where people can just walk in and check their oxygen saturation level and accordingly take necessary action to combat Covid-19, according to a press note issued here.
At present, it has started 240 oxygen checking centres which will soon be extended to 300.
The centres have been set up at places of AAP volunteers and banners are erected to help identify these. The facility will help the concerned person to seek medical help if his or her oxygen saturation level is below 95.
It may be recalled that when these centres were first started at Cuncolim and Fatorda, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party members disrupted the service which was provided free of cost to the people.
AAP Goa Convener Rahul Mhambre, who urged people to make use of these centres, said, “The service is free. Anybody who is feeling a little uncomfortable or uneasy can come and test oxygen level.”
After distribution of the oximeters to home-isolated patients, meals to family members at district hospitals since day one of the curfew, this is yet another initiative of the AAP to fight Covid.
