AAP blames CM for 'collapsing law & order situation'; seeks his resignation

PANAJI

The interim convenor of Aam Aadmi Party Rahul Mhambre severely criticized Chief Minister Pramod Sawant for the complete failure and visible inability of his government to handle the law and order situation in Goa.

Referring to the case of a person being set ablaze for raising his voice against construction irregularities at Torda, Porvorim, AAP questioned why the police have still not been able to investigate and arrest the culprits. "This shows that as the law and order situation has collapsed there is an increase in such nefarious activities and crime being committed," Mhambre said and called upon Goa Police to improve patrolling and beats to restore confidence amongst the citizens.

AAP demanded an immediate inquiry into the murder while also demanding CM Sawant's resignation for his failure to maintain law and order in the state.

Mhambre argued that CM Sawant, who is also the home minister, has completely failed to take charge of the law and order scenario in the state and therefore should resign immediately from his office.

AAP criticized CM for his vague and sluggish replies every time to questions about the rising criminal cases in Goa.
