AAP expands leadership team ahead of ZP polls

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Goa has announced a fresh round of appointments to its organisational structure as part of preparations for the upcoming Zilla Panchayat elections.

The party said the new office bearers will play a crucial role in strengthening grassroots presence and driving its campaign across the state.

AAP's State convenor, Amit Palekar described the expanded team as “the crucial part of the ZP campaign,” adding that the appointments reflect the party’s commitment to empowering local leadership and delivering clean governance.

The reshuffle includes senior positions at both State and district levels.

Prashant Naik has been named Senior Vice President of the State unit, while Brian Rodrigues and Armando Savio Henriques take charge as Joint Secretaries.

In the Scheduled Tribe Wing, Rajesh Gaonkar has been appointed Vice President.

At the district level, Meehir Agshiker will serve as North Goa Vice President, with James Maxie Fernandes holding the same post in South Goa.

Several Joint Secretaries have also been named across both districts, including John Baptist Fernandes, Manuel Simao Cardozo, Umesh Kolwalkar, and Cyril D’Silva.

The party has also strengthened its youth and women’s wings with Neash Steve Coutinho appointed at South Goa Youth Wing President and Arjun Dessai as Vice President.

In the Women’s Wing, Uma Volovoikar and Selesiana Fernandes (Selu) have been named Joint Secretaries for North and South Goa respectively.

On the communications front, Pio Kevin and Mahesh Toraskar will serve as State spokespersons, while Nancy Fernandes has been appointed vice president of the Social Media Wing.

AAP’s Goa Prabhari and former Delhi Chief Minister Atishi congratulated the new appointees, saying the team reflects the party’s vision of transparency and people‘centric governance.

“Goa has always deserved clean politics, and with this new team, AAP Goa is better prepared than ever to serve the state,” she said.
