While villagers underlined the need to save and restore river Sal to its pristine glory, the interaction also saw local people highlighting issues ranging from transportation, garbage disposal, facilities for senior citizens, roads, governance, health care, police patrolling etc.
The people were briefed on the achievement of AAP government in Delhi, especially free water provided to the people in the national capital. They were informed on how power consumers in Delhi are required to pay only 50 per cent charges if consumption is 400 units.
The villagers were informed how delegations from US, Canada, France had come to Delhi to study the healthcare facilities initiated by the AAP government, which have become a model for the rest of the world to copy. Similarly, the massive strides made in the field of education by the AAP government in schools were also explained to the participants.
After the briefing, the people were asked to give a wish list for their village so that the same could be merged at the time of finalizing the manifesto for the Benaulim constituency. AAP leaders Rupesh Shinkre and Rajeshree Nagarsekar cleared doubts and answered questions raised by the villagers. Royla Fernandes also spoke.
