The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) made a scathing attack against the BJP over demonetisation of currency notes and for harassing AAP MLAs and ministers in Delhi.

Addressing AAP meeting at Vasco, AAP Delhi MLA Alka Lamba said the demonetisation of currency notes of Rs 500 and 1,000 was done to help industrialists. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi waived off their loans and made it Non Performing Accounts and this loss to the banks is being recovered from the common man, who struggle to withdraw their own hard-earned money,” said Lamba.

“Modi is refraining from taking part in the debate on demonetisation in the Parliament by saying he is not allowed to talk and he will answer in public meetings which he will address in UP and other states,” added Lamba.

“Modi very well knows that in Parliament there are MPs who will question him on the demonetisation, while in public meetings, he knows that the common man has no guts to question him and if questioned the common man will be termed as traitor,” said Lamba.

“The BJP government is harassing the AAP MLAs and ministers and by filing false cases has sent 20 of our MLAs to jail, but the court released them.”

“My only motto of campaigning in Goa is that during the Delhi elections, Goans leaving behind their busy schedule had gone to Delhi to campaign for the AAP candidates,” said Lamba.

“As my moral duty, I will keep coming to Goa and campaign for AAP candidates till we form AAP government. I will urge Goans not to give fractured mandate, as Modi will immediately use it to his advantage and will send a RSS governor to manage the State,” stated Lamba.

“If we are elected to power, we will implement whatever we promise in the manifesto and make new rules. It cannot happen in Delhi as it is a union territory and Modi is controlling the government machinery,” added Lamba.

Cortalim AAP candidate Olencio Simoes, Vasco candidate Loretta D’Souza and Dr Oscar Rebello, spokesperson of AAP, also spoke at the meeting.

PANAJI Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar on Monday asked senior Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) leader Sudin Dhavalikar to resign from the Cabinet, if he had self-respect. He was reacting to Dhavalikar’s claim that Parsekar has taken the State 10 years backward and the BJP-MGP alliance will continue only if Parsekar is dropped as the chief minister. Speaking to media persons after a function, Parsekar said, “If he has some self-respect, he should resign and go. He wants…
