Aam Aadmi Party Benaulim MLA Venzy Viegas kicked off its Goa Women Safety Dialogue in his home constituency to create a safe space for women to share their concerns and ideas on addressing gender based violence and discrimination.
The meeting received a huge response from women of the Benaulim constituency as it brought together a panel of renowned personalities, including Auda Viegas, to discuss women’s safety and empowerment.
Saying that the overwhelming response reflects the urgency and importance of this issue in Goa, MLA Venzy Viegas said he is committed to taking the women safety dialogues across Goa, ensuring that every woman has a platform to voice her concerns and contribute to creating a safer, more inclusive society.
Unveiling his plans, Venzy said steps will be taken to create Village wise Para Volunteer cells & create awareness; Provide legal support to victims; expand the dialogue to other constituencies in Goa; collaborate with stakeholders to develop actionable solutions and advocate for policy changes and implementation.
“The response to the Goa Women Safety Dialogue has been incredible. It’s clear that women in Goa are eager to be heard and be part of the solution. I’m committed to taking this initiative forward, ensuring that every woman in Goa has a voice and a safe future,” Venzy added.
