AAP launches 230 oxygen examination centres

PANAJI
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has started 230 oxygen examination centres all across Goa where people can just walk in and check their oxygen saturation level and accordingly take necessary action to combat the coronavirus which is spreading like wild fire.

The centres have been set up at AAP volunteers’ places and banners are erected to help identify the centre. If the oxygen saturation level is below 95 then the concerned person will have to contact a medical practitioner for advice.

It may be recalled that when these centres were first started at Cuncolim and Fatorda the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party members disrupted them and stopped the service that was provided free of cost to the people.

“The service now also is free and anybody who is feeling a little uncomfortable or uneasy can come and test the oxygen level,” said AAP Goa convener Rahul Mhambre who urged people to make use of these centres.

While disclosing that very soon the number of these testing centres will increase to 300, Rahul said that practically every village in the State is covered and the aim is to cover every neighbourhood.

He pointed out that some of the places where the oxygen testing centres have been set up do not even have basic necessities for proper healthcare of the living there.

Rahul lamented that the State administration has made the Primary Health Centres non-functioning as they have not been equipped properly to deal with the second wave of the coronavirus infection and that is why AAP has stepped in to provide this basic necessity to the people.
