A day after party banners were removed by miscreants in Fatorda, a group of Aam Aadmi party supporters staged a silent protest meters away from the residence of MLA Vijai Sardesai.

Armed with placards, the AAP workers led by party Fatorda candidate Ranjit Carvalho protested on the main road leading to Sardesai’s house, before they withdrew from the site and shifted their venue in front of the District Collectorate building.
Ranjit told the media that AAP volunteers are protesting silently as the party believes that all political parties and candidates should be given equal opportunity to put up their banners. We want a clean election, he said.
When questioned why the volunteers went near the residence of Sardesai with placards, he said the AAP volunteers wanted to bring to notice of the MLA the theft of the banners.
“We wanted to convey to the MLA to tell the police to catch the culprits who were involved in removing the banners,” he said.
The AAP volunteers were apparently disturbed that party workers were roughed up by miscreants near the multipurpose hall at Borda on Monday when they had caught one of them red handed while tearing down the banners of the party.
