ACE: Creating ambassadors for hospitality excellence

Goa College of Hospitality and Culinary Education is a trusted name among Hospitality schools, having made its foray into the industry as the Academy of Culinary Education (ACE) with affiliation with the Goa University as the Goa College of Hospitality and Culinary Education.

The college offers a three year degree programme in hospitality and culinary management. The eligibility is XII Std and the intake is just 30 per batch. 
The courses at the institution begin in July and the admissions for this year’s courses have already begun at the institute.
The institution also offers short term courses of a year in food and beverage production, six months courses in food and beverage (service) and housekeeping. The eligibility for these courses is X Std.   
A Post Graduate Diploma in Chef’s Management is also offered to students who have completed a three degree programme in Hotel Management.   
The Hotel school is part of the Fomento Educational and Charitable Society, a part of the Fomento Group which also owns Fomento Resorts and Hotels Ltd.   
The students have been absorbed both nationally and internationally in organizations such as the Ritz Carlton, the Hyatt, Marriott, Four Seasons, Le Meridien, Radisson, Oberoi, Taj, Leela, Cidade de Goa among others.   
The curriculum is designed to provide all round development in core operational subjects of front office, housekeeping, food and beverage (service) and food and beverage (production). It also comprises management subjects such as strategic management, management, management processes, human resource management, financial management, management accounting, marketing management etc. Training in soft skills such as French, developing verbal and written communication skills, personality development, besides other non-business courses such as creativity and innovation, mass media, event management, theatre, etc, are also imparted. Planned exposure to five star deluxe hotels is also planned.
