Dr Achyuta Samanta, Founder of KIIT, KISS and KIMS, has been awarded an honorary doctorate by SRM University, Sonepat, during its third convocation held today.
The Vice-President of India, C P Radhakrishnan, presented the honorary degree as the Chief Guest in the presence of Dr T R Paarivendhar, Founder Chancellor of SRMIST Chennai; Prof Paramajit S Jaswal, Vice-Chancellor of SRM University Sonepat, and Prof V Samuel Raj, Registrar.
This marks the 69th honorary doctorate received by Dr Samanta from universities across the world, recognising his continued efforts in education, social transformation and humanitarian service.
In its citation, SRM University praised Dr Samanta as a symbol of “service without boundaries, education without discrimination, and humanity without compromise,” acknowledging his lifelong commitment to empowering the underprivileged and uplifting the poorest communities in Odisha.
Dr Samanta thanked SRM University, its Academic Council and Board of Management for conferring the Honoris Causa on him.
