Social activist Adv Prasad Shahapurkar has written to the Mandrem panchayat, requesting the local body to inspect and take action against hill cutting at Junaswada.
Locals have alleged hill cutting activity at Junaswada since the past few days and had raised the issue at a recent gram sabha. They had demanded strict action against those involved in the hill cutting activity.
Sarpanch Amit Sawant had assured that the panchayat would take action if there is a written complaint in the matter.
Accordingly, Adv Shahapurkar submitted his written complaint and the copies of his complaint were forwarded to the local panchayat member Chetana Pednekar, Forest Department and the deputy town planner.
